SDC Foundation conducted a waste management survey and awareness program at RWA Sidharth Paradise to promote better household-level waste segregation and responsible disposal practices. The objective of this initiative was to visit each household within the RWA, observe the existing waste segregation practices at the source, and raise awareness among residents about sustainable waste management.
The SDC Foundation team, including Dinesh Semwal and Parveen Upreti, visited various homes in the RWA to assess the segregation of wet and dry waste and interacted directly with residents and staff. Through these interactions, participants were informed about the scientific and environmental benefits of proper waste management, and how source-level segregation plays a key role in improving cleanliness and enabling effective recycling.
RWA Sidharth Paradise has taken commendable steps by starting a systematic collection of segregated plastic waste from households. The collected plastic waste is being sent for recycling, helping reduce the environmental burden while encouraging a culture of responsible citizenship among residents.
This initiative by SDC Foundation is an important step towards promoting sustainable waste management and environmental awareness within communities. The active participation and cooperation of RWA Sidharth Paradise demonstrate that community-led efforts can truly bring about positive and lasting change towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
