Uttarakhand on Edge: UDAAS Monsoon Report 2025 was formally released at the School of Law, UPES. The report presents a detailed analysis of the state’s changing monsoon patterns, rising climate vulnerabilities, and increasing disaster risks. The event witnessed the participation of senior faculty members, students, and the team from the Social Development for Communities (SDC) Foundation.
The programme was chaired by the Assistant Dean of the School of Law, who highlighted the relevance of climate research for legal studies and public policy. Assistant Professor Gautam Kumar addressed the gathering and emphasized the need for climate awareness and environmental understanding among students. Several students from the School of Law participated actively, reflecting the institution’s commitment to socially responsible education.
Anoop Nautiyal, Prerna Raturi and Dinesh Semwal attended the event from SDC Foundation. They discussed the report’s key findings and expressed concern over irregular rainfall, extreme weather events, and the growing disaster risk in Uttarakhand. They also underlined the importance of evidence-based research in guiding policy and strengthening public awareness.
The event concluded with an engaging discussion on the role of educational institutions, civil society, and youth in building a resilient and climate-aware Uttarakhand.
